I'd offer to measure the ID of my LG when I get home, but I'm sure someone else will have already answered this by then. As for getting the steaks closer to the coals, you can: 1 load the coal to the top of the fire ring. 2 remove the fire ring ant place the grate on the fire box rim. 3 remove the grate and put the steaks directly on the *hot* coals.
