Grandpas Grub,

We do many different dishes in open pot Dutch Ovens as well as other large open pot pans. I do need to adjust the liquid in all my recipes to run the open pot but this is my preferred method to cook in the Egg. I figure that if you are going to use the lid, might as well do it in the kitchen oven.

Here is my version of hot beef stew about done on the cooker. I use the Spicy Hot V8 juice as my base for my broth.

This is my Jambalaya ready to go on the cooker.

This is my low carb stuffed peppers ready to go on the Egg.

This is some black beans & meat ready to go on the cooker.

This is an open pot of cabbage and sausage over some pork steaks on the Egg.

Here is a slab of ribs over my baked beans on the Egg. May have to look close to see the pot but it is right under the ribs and I like the drippings going into the pot for additional flavor for the beans. I use the probe to measure the beans and not the ribs as I want to just keep the beans at a low simmer.

This is a pot of pinto beans on the cooker.

This is a pot of Texas Hot Ranch Beans on the cooker.

As you can probably see, I do all my open pot and Dutch Oven cooking with an indirect setup.

Dave
