ABT's...First Try

I tried the basic recipe using crab meat and cream cheese (with chives & onions) filling wrapped in bacon (no spice, as I wanted to get an idea of how the flavors would come together). Aside from not soaking the tooth picks (forgot) they were pretty good. However, there was a little conflict between the crab ($20/#!) & the bacon, so next time I think I'll stick to a meat filling. All in all, a mighty nice addition to Monday's lunch. Three experiments in the past week (pig candy, a fattie, & ATB's) and they're all on my "do-again" list! These were all done on a Weber gasser amd I can't wait to get my first, BGE! Perhaps later in the summer when things calm down a bit....

Rascal,
I did the same this weekend with ABTs.
Found crab meat on sale. $9.99.
I'm sure it was not the world's best.
Mixed with a little cream cheese, grated cheese and DP spice.
Wraped with thin maple bacon.
I cooked low heat 250 to render bacon then
pulled to build up heat and put back on to
crisp bacon. They were great.
