stike ulika,
inn the old kamados, they sometimes were mortared in place around the perimeter. no worries. put the
fire ring on and after a year of cooks you'll have a nice snug bunch of goo sealing the
perimeter.

don't know if 'airtight' is required. my firebox is a bit loose too. i have no problems

Grandpas Grub ulika,

When I got my medium I noticed the firebox and ring were pretty loose. I then checked the large and
it is a 'little' loose.

Both cook great

AZRP ulika,
Should not be a problem, just get cooking! -RP

ulika I posted a few days ago that my egg had broken. Well I quickly got it fixed. However, I have a
question that I thought someone might know. My egg is about 2 years old and when I got the
replacement bottom the fire ring and fire box don't seem as snug. Will this effect the egg at
all? It seems like the tight fit would possibly change the heat conduction or something. Maybe I
am over thinking this, but I thought I would ask.
