Today I became the proud owner of a medium egg ( to go along with my mini, the small and a large). Kinda rounds out the family, don't ya think. No, I really didn't need another egg, but I was able to get this for a great price (garage sale like). It needs a new band, gasket, a nest along with some TLC but should be a fun project. The fire ring is in two pieces (almost as if cut perfectly in half) and there is a crack in the firebox. The charcoal grid is an old ceramic one, so more may be needed!Smokey
Damon, I'm still using the original ceramic charcoal grid in my six-year-old Medium and it's still going strong - no need to mess with it.Congrats - I think you'll fall in love.TRex
TRex,The ceramic grate does not bother me, the old scissor style band will go! It doesn't even have a gasket at all, so I will add one and I will add a nest. Other than that, she's ready to cook! You available for lunch this week?Smokey
Smokey,I've still got the scissor hinges and haven't had a gasket since 2003, LOL. I'm in Augusta until next week, bud - otherwise I'd be there! Enjoying my reprieve from the classroom and getting some good R&R with the folks.
Smokey, So you did get it. Cool. That'll be a good addition to your arsenal. Was it a really old egg? As soon as I get my outdoor kitchen built, I'll thinkin' I'll have an extra table you could adapt for it.
