First off let me say, my first Eggtoberfest was beyond my wildest expectations. So many gracious and friendly people. I'd like to say thanks to all of those involved.I was lucky enough to have won a Medium BGE in the drawing. I already own a XL BGE, and there is only my wife and myself here to cook for. Though we occasionally have large parties at our house, I'm not sure if we would use both the XL and the Medium Eggs enough to keep the Medium. So, I have the wonderful dilemma of deciding what what to do with it.1. Keep it for the times when it would come in handy. 2. Sell it and use the funds towards the screened in porch we're building. 3. Give it to my brother whose wife is a chef.I guess my question is, what would it be worth if I sold it? And, are there benefits to owning two, even if you don't cook for large groups often? It came with the nest. Internet dealers’ prices range too drastically to pin point a fair price. Thanks for any help, Tim aka Vern

Tim Fowler, first of all I have my own opinion about multiple eggs - seeing I have 4 sizes and love them and also just two of us 99% of the time. While it's generous of you to consider giving it to your brother you have to ask yourself... will he or his wife want it, let alone use it? (an unwanted gift to a person with a gas mentality is a waste.) While I don't have a brother I have a close brother-in-law however twice now in two years I have won large BGEs in contests and I've donated them both to Easter Seals. While my b-i-l says he would like one I know he doesn't have the patience to learn it or to even use it.

Tim Fowler, If you are seriously thinking about giving it to your brother, let me just say this, YOU"VE ALWAYS BEEN LIKE A BROTHER TO ME!!". I think if you try it for a while, you can make a better, more informed decision, then there won't be any second guessing later on. Congrats on winning such a versitile prize!!

Tim Fowler, I agree with some of the previous post that you should give the multiple egg ownership a try. I have an XL as well as a large and small. Added a mini at the fest. There are 3 of us here and i use the small 75% of the time. Saves on lump and time. Doesnt take very much to crank it up for a few steaks, chicken breasts, pork chops. Its also a very good pizza maker so i can see that the medium would be just about perfect. Thats the only size i dont have.

Tim Fowler, Give it to your brother for a Christmas gift. It will shock him to receive such a fine item, but your turn to receive will be the next Christmas. You got to luv my strategy!

RRP, I think they both would use it. And Enjoy it. Like I said, she's an actual chef and also happened to grow up in Japan, so I think having a Kamado would not only be something they would use, but also somehow remind her of her past. Thanks for the input, Tim

BurntRaw, The arguements for keeping it and giving it away seem evenly weighted. Being that he's about to be moved again by the Navy, I'll atleast wait to see if he's buying a house rather than renting an apartment before giving it to him so I have a little while to think either way. Thanks, Tim

Tim Fowler, Moi? Me, wicked? Ask Mr. Wise, Celtic Wolf or Max! They actually saw my little downy wing tips sticking out from under my shirt sleeves. Thx for reply. God bless.
