Tim Siders,
Doing a 22lb for my neighbor tomorrow while my brother-in-law takes care of the family bird figuring to be about 4 1/2 hrs. I usually stick to the mad max setup and basting instructions but we stuff ours. Never had any problems with smoke. Best of luck start the egg a good 45 minutes before the bird goes on, just to get it up to temp and burning clean. Lots of lump and you will be fine, post if you have questions.
