Building a Grill Extender

Lost in Utah,
Have you thought about using a rib rack, filling it up, and then place another rack directly on top of the first one at a 90 degree angle?....or placing a grid on top of the first rack and then laying ribs directly on the grid or placing a a second rack on the grid and filling that one too?
