So what should be my first cook on my egg? Something quick for weeknight dinner. I was thinking steak. Man I'm pumped to fire it up!

reservoirhogsbbq,
from the looks of your website you know your way around the grill. that said i vote for steak and grilled asparagus. if they are the thin ones they will cook while the meat is resting. then again steak and shrimp to celebrate your egg...
i have 3 turkey breast tenderloins on the egg now.. will slice them down for lunch meat. doing this once a week now.
happy eggin

reservoirhogsbbq,
Steak sounds great and the BGE does a wonderful job, however the first 4-5 cooks should be below 375F so as to not cook the gasket until it gets settled. Perhaps a chicken (see link) would work or pork loins/tenderloins.

reservoirhogsbbq,
I say ABT's and burgers.
Nice mild mid temps to season your egg and your tummy.

reservoirhogsbbq,

Ribeyes!

But first it's traditional to baptize the egg before your inaugural cook.
Here's how.... wait until the moon rises over the treeline, crack a PBR, pour a little on the egg as it's getting to temp, then pour a little on your head as you dance buck naked counter clockwise around the egg doing the funky chicken and howling at the top of your lungs at the rising moon.

Once the rite is completed, you're ready to cook.

reservoirhogsbbq,

Whatever you cook, it will come out great. Remember to take pic's of your first Egg cook and post 'em.

Rick's Tropical Delight,

oh, you wouldn't want to see that.... besides, it's a private rite.... just between you and the egg. :~)
