I did three pizzas Saturday night. The dough went on the stone for 45 seconds with no toppings. I pulled it out, put on a pizza pan and topped it. It then went back in for about 2 minutes. This seemed to be the trick. The bottom had some nice char, but it wasn't burned. I'm going to try it again soon, but I might top it first just to see what happens.
