Thanks to everyone who posted suggestions about the use of parchment paper (remove or not). I ended up not removing and the bottom was just fine. I used whole wheat pizza dough I bought at Trader Joes - it was a little "flat". Next time I'll make my own.

First a layer of pizza sauce... then mozzarella... then sliced portabellos.. then pepperoni... then Quattro Formaggio from Trader Joe's which is a blend of provolone-asiago-parmesan-fontina.. and topped with slices of red, orange and yellow sweet pepper...

Baked at 500 for 15 minutes...

Forgot to mention that I brushed the edges with Olive Oil and sprinkled with sesame seeds! My local place for 'za makes it that way!

GirlyEgg,
You go, girl! That was one professional pizza in those great pictures. Let's see more of your triumphs.

No one tells you that Step 1 is to remember to get your camera out. By the time you remember, your hands are so groady you don''t want to touch your camera with them.

GirlyEgg,

That looks spectacular. I've been wondering how that Trader Joe's pizza dough works out - so you thought it was "flat" as in "thin" or as in "didn't taste great"?

Keep up the picture posting!!

TRex,
It was kinda weird... didn't really cook right... fell flat... didn't puff up. I tried it once in my toaster oven and got the same result... maybe it's me. I'd be interested to hear from others after trying

GirlyEgg,
that looks great!!!!

the only pictures i have are of one's i didn't toss myself. but what i have done is of the great ideas i got from early in my cooking "HOBBY" is to find a local pizza place and buy dough from them.
let me tell you this is invaulable info.. i found the best pizza place in my area (i actually drove to clemson sc which is about 20 min drive for me and found a new york pizza place and bought their dough and froze several medium pizza balls and defrosted it when i knew i was going to do pizza).

this has been one of the best pieces of advice i have ever gotten they sell it for $2 and is the perfect recepie for pizza dough. so if you are unhappy with the trader joe (i have never even seen a trader joe's so i can't compare) try your local pizza parlor (havn't heard that term in awhile) they tend to do the best. if you can't find a local one try one of the chains they obviliously know something!!

and keep up the pics!!!!!!

happy eggin
tb

GirlyEgg,

I've tried the Trader Joe's pizza crust, but never the
whole wheat version. I was very disappointed in the TJ's crust. Like you found, the TJ's crust didn't rise for me.

GirlyEgg,
That looks good enough to eat!...Great job on the 'za. I don't believe the dough rising was your fault. Must'ave gotten a bad batch. Just imagine if the dough had cooperated..what a pie!
