Found this stuff called Char Crust at my local supermarket, and it is absolutely awesome on a flash searned rib eye! I'm actually grilling veggies and Ribeyes tonight and will post pics if I can figure out how! LOLGreg
spbull472, Havent' had Grub rub BUT I can recommend Bad Byron's "BUTT RUB" I use it on Boston BUtt's, chicken, and Turkey with great results. ~Pharmeggist
Greg M,Yes, CharCrust is well known and has been discussed many times here before. It is more widely available than it used to be a few years ago. I have to admit, though, I'm a Dizzy Pig Groupie....love Raising the Steaks and Cow Lick Steak Rub. There are several kinds of Char Crust.., which did you try?
probe1957,I ran across a steak rub called Fat Bastard believe it or not, it was pretty good. Had a lot of coarse ground spices and a bit of heat. I love the salty element. My fav rub is Raising The Steaks from Dizzy Pig though. Lots out there to try! Isn't it great? Cheers...
Pharmeggist, I carry all the rubs mentioned in this thread. All of them are very yummy. The Bad Byron's Butt Rub is our #1 seller in our store. It really does make everything better!!!! I personally love, love, love it on eggs!! Anytime you would normally use Salt or Pepper give a little "Butt Rub" instead.
Renee Attili, Haven't tried them on eggs LOL my wife accuses me of using it too much. However, she complained the last time I used Montreal Chicken Seasoning instead of Butt rub on the chicken. FUNNY huh? Good stuff :=) ~Pharmeggist
