If, if mind you it were possible to create a zero gravity environment
and cook a brisket in it. Would the juices stay in? An idle mind is a terrible thing.

Charles in SC,
Well idle mind, I am not sure if the juices would stay in or not. You might want to worry about the flying hot lump bumping into you while you try to keep the brisket down.

Jwirlwind,
In my perfect zero grav area the lump would not be in the zero grav area. Thanks for reminding me about the fire. I guess the smoke would stay in the egg longer too. Would the lump even burn? Oh pooy that was not the question.

Charles in SC,

Well....

How 'bout suggesting this as a science experiment for the Space Shuttle?

Broc in Council Bluffs,
Sounds good to me. Maybe they could use the tile bleed off heat on reentry instead of lump.

Charles in SC,
Zero gravity is not the same as zero pressure, so I think it would work just fine, if you could have everything clamped in place, like a screen over the lump.

I think the juices would still ooze out as shrinkage occurs, but they'd float away in blobs, rather than dripping on the coals.
